What solo building teaches you

You learn where AI actually accelerates. Not theoretically — in the messy reality of shipping. Code generation? Fast. Architecture decisions? Still yours. Debugging AI-generated code? A new skill.

You learn where it needs human oversight. Quality control at 600 SKUs taught me more about AI reliability than any benchmark.

You learn the workflow, not the tool. The tool changes monthly. The workflow — ideate, generate, evaluate, iterate, ship — that’s the transferable skill.

Why this matters for organisations

Most AI training teaches tools. Solo building teaches workflows. The organisations that succeed won’t be the ones with the best prompts — they’ll be the ones who redesign how work gets done.
